New project about degradation mechanism of seagrass beds

The new project ‘Research on the degradation mechanism of seagrass beds in southern China and development and demonstration of the ecological restoration technology’ is supervised by Dr. Wang Daoru from HAOFS and is supported by Zhongjie Wu, Shiquan Chen, Zefu Cai, Jilin Liang, Rui Wu and Jie Shen. The research project is part of the National key Research and Development plan of China and will run from July 2017 to December 2020.

This project contains the following tasks:

(1) Evaluation of the ecological degradation of the important seagrass beds in southern China affected by Human activities.
(2) Study on the relationship between physiological ecological response mechanism and degeneration of the important seagrass beds in southern China that are affected by human activities.
(3) Study on the life cycle, seed library dynamics and impact of human activity of the important seagrass beds in southern China.
(4) Study on the benthic animal dynamics of the important seagrass beds in southern China and its contribution for the seagrass recovery.
(5) Invention and demonstration of the ecological restoration technology system of typical seagrass beds in southern China.
